    David Fishman asked:

When removing hair from your body there are several steps that you need to take, especially after you get laser hair removal treatment, this will make sure that the hair grow back will be minimal. All of us are searching for an easy way to remove hair from our body, we search all over the internet for the answers, but all the sources that are on the internet are pretty much the same. Hair removal is a little painful and you will need to continually go for treatment, hair removal is not a one shot deal.

People have tried everything to get rid of unwanted hair, they have tried plucking, waxing and bleaching but the problem still remains, the hair will grow back. There are many different options when it comes to hair removal, there are affordable options but you must understand that when using more cost effective procedures the length of time the hair remains removed will be of a shorter time span.

Laser Body Hair Removal is growing rapidly in popularity as men and women become more conscious of their body image. Most people who have a lot of hair on their body are embarrassed when going to any type of event that involves taking off clothing. When people go swimming in the summer most people are embarrassed about taking of their clothing because of the hair on their body. The removal of body hair is becoming more widespread and prevalent because in today’s world no hair is sexier.

Why should you use a laser to remove hair? Men and women from all walks of life are turning in increasing numbers to laser to remove unwanted hair from their bodies. The latest technology has created machines that allow technicians to remove your hair from virtually any where on your body; it only works if the hair is fully grown it does not work on small or peach fuzz hair. To remove the hair by the root it must be at least 1/4 inch or 6 mm long.

If you are looking for permanent hair removal many people choose electrolysis, using this option leaves your skin virtually void of hair. Try to find a practitioner who will put their claim of permanent hair removal in writing with a guarantee.

Time peel is a valuable solution for clients with large pores, chapped skin and fine wrinkles, as well as for improvement of the skin pigmentation. If you are going to shave your pubic hair make sure you use a wet shaver, if you cannot completely dry the area before shaving. Light skin is the preferred choice for laser hair removal and fewer treatments will be required.

Hair removal has become very popular and laser hair removal has become an alternative to waxing and shaving because when you use laser treatments unwanted hair is removed and after many treatments it is permanently removed or reduced. Waxing is another method that many women use, but this hair removal system can be very painful. One of the most cost effective methods of removing hair still remains and that is tweezing and waxing.

    Nishanth Reddy asked:

    Why is Hair Removal Essential?

Apart from cosmetic reasons, there can be other compelling reasons why people want to remove hair; for example medical reasons.

This is required when due to some hormonal imbalance women start sprouting hair at places where they are not supposed to, e.g., facial hair. Also, before surgery a patient’s hair requires removal in order to reduce chances of infection. This is done by a simple temporary method like shaving.

Social and cultural reasons dictate hair removal at times. Would you look better at the workplace clean-shaven or with stubble or would you like to flaunt hairy legs on a date? These are things like that make up social and cultural reasons. Many religions across the world also involve some kind of hair removal ritual.

    Types of Hair Removal

There are basically two types of hair removal temporary and permanent hair removal processes. Before we discuss the different methods available for hair removal it is essential to know that hair growth starts from beneath the skin’s surface.

If you want to remove hair above the skin’s surface then that is most likely a temporary method, also called depilation. Shaving, trimming, using creams or powders that dissolve hair or using rough surfaces to rub off hair are temporary methods.

Permanent hair removal, also called epilation, involves removing hair not just from the surface but removing it entirely along with the root. Methods like tweezing, waxing, sugaring, threading, etc. are depilation methods. Then there are the more sophisticated depilation methods such as electrolysis and laser hair removal.

    Permanent Hair Removal System

If you are looking for a type of permanent hair removal system, you can rest assured in knowing that there are many options available to you, and so depending on your budget, available time, and personal preference, you should be able to narrow down between the available options and decide on the one that is right for you.

Some of the most popular permanent hair removal system processes include:

    Electrolysis hair removal

    Epilators

    Hair growth inhibitors

    Hair removal creams and depilatories

    Ingrown hair treatments

    Sugaring

    Waxing

    Laser Hair Removal System

There are different types of laser hair removal systems that are available for you to choose, when you are looking for a laser hair removal system.

Each laser hair removal system is different in at least some way from the next, and this is why it is so incredibly important that you truly make yourself knowledgeable on all of the different options, so that you will be sure to make the decision that is right and best for you in the end.

The Advantages of Laser Hair Removal

Laser hair removal is considered extremely safe if performed properly and by qualified specialists.

A majority of clients have reported long lasting results and even permanent hair removal.

A laser hair removal treatment can be carried out on large areas such as the chest, back, and legs in one session.

If there is re-growth after laser hair removal this will be much lighter and finer in texture than before.

It can be virtually painless when compared with waxing and electrolysis as a means of body hair removal.

    Laser Hair Removal Side Effects

Laser hair removal is an incredibly significant and important matter, and in fact a large majority of the people in the world has had it done.

However, in the case of something like this, it seems that there would of course have to be some types of side effects, and this is what begs the questions of what the possible laser hair removal side effects are.

In regards to the matter of the possible laser hair removal side effects, if you are one of those people who is worried about the safety of this practice, it is important for you to know that laser hair removal side effects are in fact quite rare, and, in most other cases, completely temporary.

    Hyper Pigmentation

The most common side effects would include something such as hyper pigmentation, meaning the appearance of dark or white spots, of which would appear on the skin and then disappear in a few months.

This usually happens more often to those who have extremely sensitive skin, and more sensitive skins may also become slightly crusty, but again it is important to recognize and remember that all of these symptoms are only temporary.

    Exposure to Sun

Basically, in regards to the side effects from such a treatment as this, they are closely related with exposure to sun or otherwise photo-sensitizing medications.

For instance, people who go to tanning beds regularly may not be an excellent candidate for this laser hair removal procedure, or they should at least refrain from going to the beds for a significant period of time both before and after they plan on having the procedure done.

    Laser Hair Removal Risks

There are particular laser hair removal risks that are involved with a laser hair removal treatment or procedure just like any other type of procedure. It is significant for anyone who is planning to have a procedure like this done to understand the possible laser hair removal risks, so that they are well informed on the matter as a whole before having it done.

    Skin Burns

The laser hair removal risks may include things such as a burning of the skin, or a discoloring on darker skin due to the use of the laser. This is particularly more likely if the doctor that is performing the procedure is not qualified or experienced enough, and so this is why you will want to make extra sure that the staff of the location you are going to is extremely qualified and deserving of your business and your trust.

    Redness or Swelling

As well, after the procedure, no medications or bandages are essential however you are likely to notice some redness and swelling on the skin for a relative time after it is completed.

    Crusting of the Skin

As well, stinging may occur for the first couple of days, and some people may even experience a slight crusting of the skin; if this crusting occurs in your case, you should make sure to keep the whole area moist, for example with Vaseline, which is the most recommended option for this.

In regards to the possible laser hair removal risks, there are few, but these still must be considered as critical to learn and understand about.

Seeking Out the Help of Professional Surgeon

There are many options in terms of laser hair removal that you can think about. One option is to seek out a professional surgeon that can complete the quick procedure in their office with little time or cost involved.

It is this type of thing that can end up being the best method to go about it because you trust a professional and you have them to hold accountable for having proper working laser hair removal equipment and a knowledgeable staff.

Without this, you may be looking at a much less confident procedure that could end up removing parts that you do not want removed.

    HBF Health Funds asked:

Funny thing pain, if you’ve never had a severe pain then the suggestion of taking simple analgesia and resting the affected area all seems quite reasonable. I was reminded of this when I read recently of a doctor’s advice to someone who was suffering from sciatica. Having personally experienced sciatica, it’s a condition I would not recommend to anyone who wishes to walk, sit, laugh, sleep, or to just simply pull up your trousers. It’s a bit like a dentist drilling your teeth without an anaesthetic, but it affects your whole leg. In other words the pain is consuming, exhausting and without respite. Clinical studies do show that in the majority of cases the pain will eventually subside and surgery may not be necessary, but in the meantime the patient has to deal with the pain or deal with the medication required to dull the pain. Remember, pain-killers are not selective to the area affected. They affect the whole of the nervous system and elsewhere so there may be significant side-effects from these medications.

Dealing with severe pain can be a complex issue, but I suggest that you have to treat this sort of pain fairly aggressively as acute severe pain is relatively easier to treat than chronic severe pain. In the early stages of an injury or insult to an area of the body, most of the pathological processes are happening at the site of the injury or insult. Throughout time the brain begins to modulate this pain and so no only do you have the injured area to deal with, but you also have complex neural pathways within the brain to deal with as well. This often means a far more complex management plan and a far more protracted recovery time. Specialists are very skilled at dealing with these issues but they do rely heavily on the stories their patients give them. That means being honest in answering their questions and not being heroic with a grin and bear it grimace! Often the use of a pain scale is helpful with zero being no pain at all and a 10 being the worse pain you have ever experienced.

Another health issue we commonly down play is influenza. Over the years I have frequently heard people say that they would not have the flu vaccine because either they never get the flu or that they had it last week for a couple of days and then it was all over! Influenza is a serious debilitating disease that will usually last from 10 days to two weeks and often leave you flat on your back exhausted. It’s not a happy 10 days either as patients do not have the energy to read a magazine or even watch a DVD. You will literally feel ancient with every movement being a real challenge and that doesn’t include the aching all over or the fevers and sleepless nights. The influenza virus is also extremely contagious and most people are unaware that if you spread it to someone who is more frail than yourself that you may actually be putting their life at risk.

With the ‘flu the big challenge is to vaccinate as many people in the community as possible, including children, those employed and unemployed, the elderly and the infirm, to reduce the chance of an epidemic occurring. Recent research has also showed that vaccinating pregnant women in the last trimester of their pregnancy will help protect their new born infants born during the ‘flu season.

Medicine has evolved over the last 40 years, but the change has been fairly slow with doctors by nature being very cautious and conservative people. But we can’t leave the doctors to take all the initiatives. As patients we need to be good listeners in our approach to health by heeding all the great health messages that keep being given to us about vaccinations, smoking, alcohol, exercise and healthy eating. We also need to be good communicators and tell our doctors how we are feeling with conditions such as pain. If the team treating you doesn’t have the best information then it may be that you will not end up getting the best treatment!

  • Good Women Health is the Symbol of Fertility

    Jacob Miller asked:

The physical difference between male and female is there just for the sake of fertility. Women are the symbol of fertility; and only a healthy woman can give birth to a healthy child. For the sake of healthy family, healthy society and healthy country it is essential to pay necessary attention to women’s health. Balanced diet is the prime requirement for keeping a woman fit and fine. The diet of a woman must be rich in vitamins and minerals.

Like other parts of the body, reproductive organs of women also require due care. After reaching the age of puberty menstrual cycle starts in women which provide them power to conceive. Menstrual cycle is the process of formation of egg in the ovary, entrance of egg to the uterus for fertilization and removal of unfertilized egg. With the beginning of menstrual cycle possibility of problems related with female genital organs also increases.

Sex is a vital part of normal human life. During sex the egg is fertilized by the sperm if it is available in the uterus. Though sex only for enjoyment is prohibited in many societies and religion but millions iconoclast are there who break the norms. When physical relations are established for mutual enjoyment then women don’t want pregnancy. Contraceptive protects a woman against any unwanted pregnancy. There many types of female contraceptives available in the market.

Oral pills and skin birth control patches are the two prominent ways for women to stop unwanted pregnancy. Trivora and Ortho Tri-Cyclen are the oral contraceptive which can also stop unwanted pregnancy. Women also wear birth control patches on their skin; these are easy to use contraceptives in hectic schedule of modern life. These patches contain hormones like estrogen and progestin which are slowly released in blood stream which stop pregnancy. Ortho Evra is a birth control patch which is easily available through an online order.

Vaginal infection is a common disease in women which generally occurs because of microbes. Yeasts and certain types of fungi are responsible for vaginal infection. Yellowish discharge, dampness, itching and pain in love making are prominent symptoms of vaginal infection. There are tablets like Diflucan which can get rid of vaginal infection.

Every woman wants to have child but sometimes infertility tries to kill her wish. Infertility can occur because of many factors but hormonal disorder is the prime cause of the infertility. Drugs like Clomid can bring hormone on appropriate level so that ovary is stimulated to produce more and mature eggs. This increases the chances for conceiving, as mature egg forms zygote easily.

Menopause is the stage where women may have some complications like hot flashes, vaginal dryness and osteoporosis. After menopause every woman should pay more attention to her health. These described complications can be easily eliminated with the help of Estradiol which is usually prescribed by the doctor for curing malady related with menopause.

Before starting the use of any above described oral or topical medication, drug and contraceptive, doctor’s prescription and advice is essential. Stick to the methods and dosages as advised by the doctor.

  • What You Need to Know About Laser Hair Removal

Posted on September 29th, 1998 Aries No comments
    Julia Elorriaga asked:

If one wanted hair removal, he or she is faced with a lot of options: shaving, plucking, hot or cold waxing, hair removal creams and laser hair removal. Shaving, plucking, waxing and creams offer you a bit shorter period of time of being free from unwanted hair, not to mention the appearance of ‘chicken-skin’ and in-growth hair. Laser hair removal, though, offers you more advantages like having a soft, silky smooth, hair-free skin and breaking you free from unwanted hair – permanently. Although, there are a number of procedures that can be done to get rid of unwanted hair permanently, laser hair removal is one of the most effective. Researches show that those who have undergone laser hair removal have had limited to nonexistent growth.

Laser hair removal procedure utilizes a beam of light which passes through the skin. This beam targets the melanin, the dark pigmentation of the skin and the hair shaft. The beam seeps through the deep part of the skin to the hair follicle thus destroying the hair follicle. Removal of hair by using the laser should immediately retard the growth of hair but it needs a few follow-up treatments to finally stop the growth of hair.

Laser hair removal treatments vary for every individual. Darker-skinned individuals are rather difficult to treat than lighter-skinned ones. This is because of the amount of melanin present in dark skin toned individuals. There are also different kinds of lasers for each and every specific area of the body to be treated with laser hair removal. Follow-up treatments for optimum laser hair removal treatment should be very well maintained. These treatments may be further and further apart depending on the response of the individual to the treatment.

Laser hair removal may be effective or may cause damage to an individual. This is the reason why one should be very careful in choosing a clinic or a spa to service you with the procedure. This procedure should be done without causing any damage to the skin’s surface of the individual being treated, thus one should be very wary on whom to choose to have the procedure performed on oneself.

Individuals with blonde hair should be a bit choosier and cautious with regards to laser hair removal treatments. With the old laser hair removal treatment system, gray, blond or re-haired patients need to have 1 to 3 month intervals on their follow-up treatment to benefit much from the procedure. The new laser hair removal treatment systems though; like the “Epilight”, which offers more treatment possibilities with the range and precision of light wavelengths; and the “Elos”, which is the combination of the laser technology and the use of radio waves. Pre-laser treatments of blonde hair may also be done to optimize the results of laser hair removal on blonde hairs, this treatment is called “Meladine”. Meladine comes from compounds present in the ink of marine squid. It enhances the natural melatonin in hair follicles.

In addition, for expectant mothers, no studies have been made to prove how the laser light used in laser hair removal affects the fetus but Obstetricians opts to advice pregnant women to do away with the treatment. Waxing or electrolysis may be considered as an option for hair removal treatments.
